FAQ

Common questions

What's the difference between homeowners and landlord insurance?
Homeowners insurance covers a property you live in. Landlord insurance covers a property you rent out — it adds lost-rental-income coverage and liability protection tailored to tenants, which a standard homeowners policy doesn't include.
Often, yes. Many standard homeowners policies don't automatically extend full coverage to a converted garage, in-law unit, or backyard rental — especially if you're renting it out. We'll check your existing policy and close any gaps.
Umbrella insurance sits on top of your home, auto, or landlord policy. Once a claim exceeds the liability limit on the underlying policy, the umbrella policy takes over — protecting your savings and other assets from a large judgment.
